On 18 November, an event summarizing the implementation of our LIFE Project entitled Green-Go! Local initiatives for deployment of green infrastructure in Natura 2000 areas in the Carpathians took place in Kraków, Poland.

The event was carried out in a hybrid form - some of the participants honoured us personally, while others were remotely connected through a live broadcast. It also played the role of the last, 9th Meeting of the Project Steering Committee.

During the event, not only the presentation of the LIFE Project took place, but also another Carpathian project coordinated by UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre, which is now ending, entitled Carpathians Unite - traditional pastoralism as a form of active protection of endangered species and natural habitats in the Carpathians, implemented in partnership with the Polish Society for the Protection of Birds (OTOP), financed by the Operational Programme "Infrastructure and the Environment".

Another extremely important element of the event was a joint session with a formal meeting of the international Carpathian Convention Implementation Committee (CCIC) held simultaneously in the same place, gathering official representatives of the 7 States-Parties to the Carpathian Convention and its Secretariat in Vienna. CCIC is the most important body overseeing the implementation of the Carpathian Convention in interim periods between the tri-annual meetings of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention.

An important part of the event were also panel sessions and discussions - conducted both between Polish and international stakeholders in the joint session with CCIC. They were devoted to the conditions for the implementation of Carpathian projects in the field of biodiversity protection and local development, their synergy and coordination, as well as the application, replication and transfer of results on an international scale, in all Carpathian countries.

 The entire 6-person Carpathian Project Team participated in the meeting on the part of the UNEP / GRID-Warsaw Centre.
